The efficiency and high speed data rates of broadband connectivity are what have made it so popular. An international call made through your broadband connection is significantly less than one made through your phone line. The quality and cost effective broadband service has been able to successfully make its mark in many fields of our lives.

The main reason why this is the case, is because broadband services use IP address. In addition, broadband telephone depends a great deal on the service that internet provides it with. If your connection to the internet were to deteriorate, then it could have an adverse affect on your VOIP services also.

The voice quality that you get with a broadband phone is relatively low. This can be a major issue for those who use them in place of land line phones. Security is another issue. Service and identity theft are great causes for concern while online. Malware and virus are also capable of posing a threat to you while online.
