The Two Sides of Broadband Internet
Has the slow internet speeds that you’ve experienced in the past made you lose patience? Then maybe it’s time that you upgrade to a broadband internet connection, from your old dialup line. With this connection type you can upload or transfer files at much faster rates, you can watch a movie or download a large file within a matter of minutes and you can chat to friends and family via video conferencing.
It’s possible for you to purchase a broadband connection in either wireless or wired formats. The connection type that is wireless is referred to as mobile internet or mobile broadband. These devices come in the form of USB sticks which you can install into the USB port of your notebook, laptop or desktop system in order to access the internet. Of course, mobile broadband is significantly more expensive than your standard wired broadband internet packages.
When you get a broadband connection, there are many advantages to having it.
The speeds of this connection type can be as high as 24 Mbps, which is several times faster than anything you can get on a dialup connection. Unlike your old dialup connection, your broadband connection will not occupy your line in order to give you access to the internet. It’s possible for you to use your phone while you are on the internet. Broadband uses a number of methods to connecting you to the internet, all of which are independent from your phone line.
Your internet connection is always on, which means you do not have to dial in to a server every time you want to access the internet. But there exists two sides to this coin. For all these many advantages there are a number of cons that you must be aware of.
The reality is that it costs significantly more than your old dialup connection to get you online.
