Bleach for the feet

Foot care professionals recommend a weekly foot soak in a solution of one part chlorine bleach to 100 parts water, just to keep the feet feeling fresh and clean. Others recommend a stronger solution of one part bleach to 10 parts water for bleaching toenails to remove stains. In this case, the solution is applied directly to the toenail. If you’re using bleach for toenail fungus, however, you’ll need to be a bit more aggressive.

Bleach and smells

However, bleach is not so good on the smell. In fact, household bleach can cause allergies to some people. To prevent allergic reactions or stop the disturbing odor, the measure of the bleach mixture must be in the ratio of ten parts of water to only one part of bleach. This solution is enough for an effective yet smell-free cleaning.

Bleach for Hair

Hair bleaching is not really a hair removal technique but it is used to disguise the hair against the skin by making it appear much lighter so it is harder to see.

Whatever you do – DO NOT USE LAUNDRY BLEACH – or any other type of household bleaching agents. These may cause reactions with your skin, discoloration, burns etc. as well as the potentially dangerous fumes; especially if you are bleaching the hair on your top lip.

Bleach or Lemon

You can use lemon juice instead of bleach to clean your house safely and effectively. In fact, you can use it in places you wouldn’t consider putting bleach. Instead of adding bleach to your whites, add lemon juice instead. You can use mix lemon juice with cream of tartar and rub into stains. After washing, hang your clothes in the sun to dry and you’ll see how white your laundry can be without the smell and dangers of bleach.

CONCLUSION

Bleach does exactly that - It bleaches coloured pigments so they are transparent. It doesn’t clean by removing. I was trying to explain this to my son-in-law who said he swore by bleach and used it for many things. Only that morning he said he had used it to clean the tannin from stained teaspoons. Again I attempted to explain that the tannin was still there it had just been bleached so he couldn’t see it. His answer was I cannot see it so it has gone and the spoons are nice and shiny once again.. Defeated yet again by the power of bleach!
