When you have found a studio that you can work in preferably on a voluntary basis to begin with, it is up to you to know when you should and shouldn't do certain things. A rule of thumb is to always be attentive and listen, it is not a good idea going around trying to undermine senior audio engineers with you opinion. Unless your opinion to solving a problem is earth moving it is a good idea to only give it if you are ask for it by your manager.

Remember you work in the studio can entail different types of music, always enter the studio with a clear mind. Even if you dont like the music you should remain profeesional and be ready to work regardless. Your personal listening preference and what is being recorded in the studio are too totally different things.

Applying these strategies when approaching your experience as an audio engineer will help you career immensely. You should always approach recording with a free mind and a willingness to learn. It is also in your best interest to find out what other people are listening so you have a nice round ear for the different music that you will be recording.
