The Role of a Criminal Attorney

The responsibility of a criminal lawyer is to represent an individual who has been accused of a crime in court. In law, there are times when it’s acceptable to physically abuse another person; this is when it’s done in self defence, to protect another person, or to protect their property. These situations are all acceptable motives in court.

However, before any court will accept any of these reasons, your criminal lawyer must first show proof of the motive. Four or more reasons will have to be shown to the judge or jury that justifies your reason for using physical violence against another person. The lawyer will have to show to the judge and/or jury that the physical assault was not provoked by you, and that you were in danger of being harmed, physically, that your use of force was to prevent you from being harmed, and that your use of force was only used to protect you and nothing more.

If you were in a situation where there was no other solution but to defend yourself from a possible attack as you felt that you were going to physically harmed, then it’s the duty of the criminal lawyer to prove in court that you believed that the amount of force that you used was necessary in order to protect yourself from harm, or even possible death.

Taking a beating from another person is not necessary, as everyone has the right to protect themselves from harm. The only issue is that it must be proven in court. It’s the criminal lawyer’s responsibility to convince the court that you were in a situation where you only had two choices, one was to allow the other person to seriously harm you, or possibly kill you, and the other was to defend yourself from possible death.
