Astrology, whats it about?

Over the years many misconceptions have been made about astrology that is just not true. Defining it has also changed many times over the years. Astrology consists of groups of traditions and beliefs in relation to positions of celestial objects.

These positions are how people tend to interpret your life and the events that may surround them. Since many people give these type of readings based on the same information, various readings could happen. Not everyone interprets information the same way so this could be the reason for the various readings you may get.

What astrology can tell you

In some very interesting and important ways, Astrology will tell you what's going on in your life right now ... and what's coming up in the future. And in that way it can, yes, indeedy ... predict the future. But the real value of Astrology -- the pure gold you can mine from this fabulous and fascinating body of wisdom -- is that it can teach you to think differently about yourself, your life, your possibilities, your "problems" ... and from that it can help you understand and work more productively with the events of your future than you might have done fumbling along in the dark.

Astrology in a nutshell

Astrology in the end is just like most things we talk about it are an individual thing. If you don't believe in it then that's fine, if you do then that's also great. In other words I guess there really is no right or wrong answer. People have their reasoning for believing what they want and that will never change.

Astrology is about predicting the future and looks what is ahead for us. One thing we can learn from astrology is the future is very unpredictable just as people's opinions are. Astrology is what it is and it will forever stay that way. People will still seek it out while others will despise it that's just human nature at its finest.

Astrology and the chinese

For example Chinese Astrology which evolved convergent to western Astrology had some major differences. The most fundamental difference being the use of the moons 28 day cycle through the heavens as opposed to the Suns* 365 day cycle around the earth(*Note: The Sun does not revolve around the earth but during this period it was the popular belief).

The earliest Chinese zodiac divided the lunar cycles into 4 groups each corresponding to a different season and 7 sub groups corresponding to specific lunar mansions in the season. The seasons were given animal based names for example: Spring=The Green Dragon of spring, summer=The Red Bird of Summer, fall=The White Tiger of autumn, and winter=The Black Tortoise of Winter.
