Airbeds or air mattresses are inflatable beds, the majority of them are made from PVC vinyl plastic, but there are also some that are made from textile-reinforced rubber or urethane plastic. When deflated, these mattresses can be folded and carried and/or stored quite easily, which makes them an ideal choice for camping and temporary bedding at home for guests. These beds are inflated by using a manual pump, orally blowing into a valve or via an electric pump. There are some that are also inflated automatically, up to a certain pressure point (additional inflation is required), just by opening the valve.
