Charged with Trespassing
An emergency, possible medical in nature may lead to trespassing onto another person property. But, because of what the law stipulates, it would be looked at as criminal trespassing, unless those involved can prove otherwise. If you infringe on another person’s property without their permission then it can lead to you facing charges of misdemeanour. If this continues to happen then you could end up facing felony charges.
Trespassing is consider a rather minor offence, despite that fact, it is still advisable that you hire a criminal lawyer to fight your corner as you could be sent to jail, penalised or made to face community service depending on where you live in the country. For example, you could be made to pay a penalty of several hundred dollars or jailed for 30 days or possibly serving both sentences.
A highly experienced and skilled criminal lawyer will be able to convince the judge and/or jury that your act was inadvertent, and if you were to have committed the offence without any prior history of arrest, then the criminal lawyer would be able to get you off on minimal charges such as community service. Although trespassing is a minor charge, it can have a negative impact on your social standard and negatively affect your job prospects if you are given serve penalties. A good lawyer will be able to explain to the judge and/or jury that it was your circumstances that led you to committing the offence and that you didn’t have any criminal intent.
The most experienced criminal lawyers deal with a plethora of crime, such as domestic violence, sex, theft and so on. Therefore it’s in your best interest to hire someone who is experienced in the charges that you’re facing.
